**UPDATE ON WATER**
BOIL WATER ADVISORY – RESCINDED
The City of Amory Utilities is glad to report that the boil water advisory for the City of Amory and the areas that are served by the City of Amory Water Department located outside of the city limits in Monroe County are no longer under a boil water advisory. The City of Amory strongly encourages that you flush all faucets for a minimum of 5 minutes. In addition, we recommend that you discard all ice that has been made and any ice that is made for the next 24 hours.
Water samples were collected, tested and verified that the water is safe for consumption.
Over the next several weeks, you may notice some discolored water. This discolored water is more than likely iron that made its way into the distribution system as the water plants were being restarted. This iron is not harmful, but it can stain clothes. We apologize for this inconvenience. If you notice any discolored water from your faucets, please flush until the water runs clear. If the water does not clear up after running your water for 15 minutes, please call the water department to report an issue. 662-256-5633
We apologize for the inconvenience, but are very glad to report that the water is now safe to drink and use.

On Friday, March 24, 2023, the City of Amory along with other cities across Mississippi including Monroe County were hit by a large tornado. We will be releasing information on what our citizens need and how those coming in can assist us during this time. This page serves as a consolidation of that information.

The most up to date and fastest route for information is the City of Amory FB Page – Amory Mississippi (look for the purple and gold ribbon).  Monday and Thursday of each week at 10:00 city officials will go FB live and have a meeting at Frisco Park to update our citizens on the status of the City of Amory.
